About
Jennie Baptiste, born in Northwest London, 1971 after her parents immigrated from St. Lucia during the 1960s. As a photographer, Baptiste's work is heavily inspired by youth culture, exploring fashion, style and music as expressions of black British identity.
Graduating from London College of Communication in 1994, Baptiste has worked with clients such as Nike, Virgin Airways, Levi’s and Sony Music. Her photographs have been exhibited widely in Paris, Berlin, London and New York, with some of her works in collections at the National Portrait Gallery and Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
