The laces have a lot of give and the additional leather piece behind the laces is quite wide.

When measuring :  measure around the natural waistline at it's smallest point - under the rib cage and above the navel.   Once measured, choose a corset 4 inches smaller than your natural waist to achieve the desired "hourglass" effect.
