In 2018, Stage designer and Somerset House Studios artist Chloe Lamford spectacularly transformed the Great Arch Hall in the first of a new series of artist commissions for this main entrance just off the Victoria Embankment.
Chloe summarised her installation into one artwork, this print of Somerset House,
Background: Lamford’s installation summons a theatrical back-stage to Somerset House itself, with abandoned architectural features, imagined vistas, theatrical props, shimmering curtains and transformative stages that provides visitors the opportunity to be a player in an as-yet-unscripted play.
