Brexit Recipes is a cookbook of 28 recipes from all member countries of the European Union, based on contributions from people living in Britain, as a response to the referendum result in June 2016. It combines food culture and stories of migration, with the aim to offer a reflection on national identity, displacement and citizenship.
The book was published at the Royal College of Art in 2017, as part of a degree project. Contributors from all over the country were invited for dinner at the college canteen, and the shared experience became an essential part of the book.
Most of the recipes are familiar classics anchored in collective memories, accompanied by personal stories and political reflections.
